"Kay" Roberts has been with Chain-Younger since the fall of 1979, working as a file clerk and runner during her summer breaks from college. She graduated from Arizona State University in December 1983 at which point she began working directly under David Stiles as a medical/legal secretary and file clerk. She became the Legal Assistant for Mr. Stiles in 1992.
Since 1992 she has screened new calls, managed the calendar, and has been primarily responsible for preparing discovery responses, trial preparation and settlement documents on hundreds, if not thousands of personal injury files while providing support for several major injury jury trials each year.
She has been the primary paralegal on multi-million dollar cases, has acted as the lead paralegal on multi-plaintiff cases ranging from toxic tort and mass product tort cases with literally hundreds of plaintiffs. She has been the paralegal on case types ranging from wrongful death, product liability, elder abuse, auto, truck, boat and airplane crashes, animal attacks, sexual assaults, and many others.
She has acted for many years as Chain-Younger's librarian, maintaining and updating their extensive collection of legal texts, as well as the necessary California case reports.
In her spare time, one might find Kay on the softball field where she has been a top player for more than 20 years. In 1999 she was honored as Softball Today Magazine's national softball Women's Player of the Year. She is also a member of the Kern County Paralegal Association.
