Lesleigh Johnston began her career in Workers' compensation when she joined Chain-Younger in 1986. It was at this time she became involved in the intricacies of the Workers' Compensation system. Her job was to provide the initial evaluation of all potential clients who could benefit from our services and evaluate cases for potential third party liability. In 1988 she obtained her Workers' Compensation Certificate through California State University, Bakersfield.
In 1990 she left Chain-Younger to work for State Compensation Insurance Fund. During her ten years as a claims examiner, she earned numerous accolades which culminated with becoming the recipient of the President's Award for Corporate Excellence in 1997. She also obtained her certificate for Self-Insurance Plans from the Department of Industrial Relations in 1997.
She returned to Chain-Younger in 2000 as an administrative assistant in the Workers' Compensation department. To stay apprised of the continually changing laws, Ms. Johnston routinely attends educational conferences through the Division of Workers' Compensation. Working on behalf of the employer and the injured worker has given her a unique perspective in this field.
In addition to her own client caseload, she is a member of the Chain-Younger safety committee and is a contributing writer to the company newsletter.
In her spare time, Ms. Johnston enjoys reading, house restoration projects and gardening.
