Matthew C. Clark was born in St. Cloud, Minnesota and raised in Bakersfield. He joined Chain-Younger in 2006 where he concentrates in personal injury, civil litigation and administrative law.
When he was one year-old, Matt's family decided to move to sunny Bakersfield from the frigid Midwest. His grandfather and four uncles owned Owen Clark Plumbing, so his Dad wanted to come back to help build houses with the rest of the family while his Mom taught English.
If you ask Matt why he likes being a lawyer he will say, "I enjoy serving my clients. I feel like I can make a difference in the lives of people who otherwise would have no voice."
A Garces High School alumnus, Matt graduated cum laude in 1997 with a B.A. in Film and Television Production from Loyola Marymount University. He was admitted to the California Bar in 2001 after graduating with a Juris Doctor from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. He was a member of the McGeorge Mock Trial Honors Team.
Matt believes in giving back to the community. He helped coach the Stockdale High School mock trial team from 2001 to 2005. He also served on the Teen Court of Kern County from 2002 to 2004. Presently, he is a member of the 2006-2007 class of Leadership Bakersfield.
Matt's wife, Molly, works in real estate. Together, they chase after their 2 year-old son Harrison. In his spare time, Matt is an avid bicyclist and enjoys spending time with his family.
